These gardens are on the campus of Mary Evans Child Development Center‘s playground on the north campus of First Community Church! They are tended by a group of volunteers led by master gardeners Loren and Cheryl VanDeusen. The group works with the Mary Evans teachers and students in addition to tending and harvesting the gardens
The harvest benefits our Heart to Heart food pantry at south campus. Produce is grown throughout the spring, summer and early fall and donated to the pantry for clients to choose as they shop. Once a year, the harvest is donated to the Farmer’s Market held outside during Sunday worship services at North Campus.
