About
The Trading Post is a volunteer-run thrift shop in Grandview that offers an eclectic array of clothing, household items, books, and much more at bargain prices. Located at the corner of First and Cambridge Boulevard, the store can be found in the basement of the brick annex building on the campus of First Community South. Opened in February of 1953, the Trading Post is going strong after more than 60 years!

Be a volunteer
The Trading Post is staffed entirely by volunteers. Consider sharing your spare hours with the Trading Post. At present, our available volunteer jobs include:

Mon / Wed / Fri during store hours Clothing Display Maintenance: Restoring proper hanging and grouping clothes by size and color, and ensuring proper hanging. Miscellaneous jobs as needed.

Fridays: Cashier shifts 10 am - 1 pm or 1 pm – 4 pm.

Weekends: Sale Shelf tasks: Pack up outdated sale shelf items for the Volunteers of America, mark the next month’s sales tag items and move them to the sales tables.

Work from home! We need a volunteer that will take home and launder clothing and textiles as needed.

Be a Donor
Donations of gently used clothes and household items are accepted during open business hours.
If you have items you would like to donate to the Trading Post, they can be dropped off at the Annex Building at First Community South during our open hours.
In addition, there is a donation bin in the Cloak Room at First Community South. We accept most items except for furniture and anything too large due to space and weight constraints.
