Trading Post Update

The Trading Post has continued to hum along through the summer. Sales have been brisk and donations have been generous. As other stores shift into fall merchandise, even as Ohio temps stay firmly in the 80’s and 90’s, we still have plenty of summer merchandise to cover you through the next few hot months (swimsuits, summer dresses, sandals, water toys, gardening accessories, etc.).

Donations: As a reminder, we accept most items except for furniture, large appliances, and other large items that won’t fit in our limited floor space. The items we do take include all men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories, books/CD’s/DVD’s, housewares, jewelry, decorations, artwork, tools, office supplies, art supplies, candles, yarn, fabric, wrapping paper, antiques, lamps, small appliances, toys, pet supplies, greeting cards, sporting goods, etc. Donations coming into the TP do not have to be in season. We will just store them until their season rolls around. Also, we are a collection spot for your old prescription glasses. A Lions Club drop box is available at the top of the stairs leading down to our basement shop (in the Annex Building at South Campus).

Saturday Shopping: As we look toward the start of fall, we are going to experiment with being open on the first Saturday of every month starting on Saturday, September 4^th (10:00 – 4:00). We have had many requests for us to be open on the weekend by customers who aren’t free to shop during the workweek. So we will extend our open hours to one Saturday per month and see how it goes.

If you’ve never been to the Trading Post, we’d love for you to visit us to see what a cheerful, welcoming shop we are. So many customers and volunteers have described the TP as “their happy place”. Again, we are located in the basement of the Annex Building which is located at the back of the parking lot at South Campus. We share the building with Heart to Heart and Prayers and Squares, our other church missions. We are open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00-4:00 and, as mentioned, in September we will start being open the first Saturday of the month.
