Director of Music

Reports to:  Senior Minister

Principals and Primary Responsibilities

First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full time Director of Music to continue a tradition of musical excellence within the spiritual life of the congregation. The Director of Music shall actively oversee and shepherd the growth of the various musical groups involving multi-generational musicians. The Director shall also regularly collaborate with members of the clergy and staff to develop innovative ways to enhance the worship experience through music.

The Director shall provide and/or coordinate direction for all adult choirs and supporting instrumentalists for all services, rehearsals and other musical offerings.  The Director will  supervise all paid music staff including the Worship and Arts Coordinator, organists, and choral section leaders.

Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours a week

Visual Acuity Requirements: Worker required to have close visual acuity to perform activities of reading, inspecting, color coding, viewing computer screens, small parts, fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.

Stewardship and Foundation Coordinator (Full-time)

The Stewardship and Foundation Coordinator will provide support to the Senior Minister and Executive Director of Operations with respect to stewardship activities of FCC and supporting the Executive Director of Operations with respect to the First Community Foundation. This includes coordinating meetings, preparing lists and reports, organizing events, preparing materials for meetings and maintaining records. He or she will assist with donor and funder relations and will frequently interact with donors, members of FCC and its staff. The position will also provide other administrative support to the Executive Director of Operations.

Reports to:  Executive Director of Operations

FLSA status:  Non-Exempt

Software: Use of Microsoft Office is required.  Ability to learn other software must be demonstrated.

Youth Program & Ministry Coordinator

Reports To:  Minister to Youth

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The Youth Program & Ministry Coordinator manages many of the day-to-day tasks of the overall 6th-12th grade youth ministry program, adding depth, engagement and fun. The YPMC will work collaboratively with the Youth Ministry Coordinator and the Minister to Youth to ensure all aspects of the ministry are thoughtfully planned and implemented.

Responsibilities for the Youth Program & Ministry Coordinator include planning and delivering of weekly ministry lessons & programming throughout the year for students in middle school (6th-8th grades) and high school (9th-12th grades).
