Dominican Republic Mission Trip
2018 Trip Information
The 2018 trip dates are Friday October 12 – Friday October 19.
Registration will open August 13 for members of First Community Church.
We will open registration to non-members on August 27.
This mission trip is intended for members of the graduating class of 2020. If we are unable to fill the trip with participants from this class, we will open spots to the class of 2019 at a later date.
On the Dominican Republic Mission Trip, high school students from First Community Church spend a week at the Dominica School and Orphanage in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The purpose of the trip is simply to serve in any way we are needed.
Our participants teach classes at the school, work on art projects with the kids, lead kickball and volleyball for gym class, practice speaking English with the high school students, and do work projects to improve the facility. We have come to know this special place as our home away from home, and these children and their caregivers are our family.
Dominica School and Orphanage
First Community Church has a long-standing relationship with the director, Dominica Rosario and the school in La Urena, DR. Read more about it here.

Senior Capstone Projects
Some students who participate in the Dominican Republic trip use their experiences as research for their senior capstone projects. If you are interested in doing this, please talk to us and we will help make sure your research is successful.
