Dr. R. Glen Miles
Senior Minister
Dr. Miles is ordained by the Disciples of Christ. He is passionate about both preaching and teaching and he is experienced in the leadership and administration of a large church. Most importantly, Dr. Miles has a conviction that the love and grace we experience in Jesus Christ have the power to transform individuals, communities and all of creation.Education: Dr. Miles earned the Doctor of Ministry at Claremont School of Theology in Claremont, California and the Master of Divinity degree from Emmanuel Christian Seminary in Johnson City, Tennessee. He and his wife Julie have been married for 37 years and have two sons, Nate and Steven.

Primary responsibilities: Coordinate mission activities of the church. Preach, teach and liturgize; Pastoral care as needed.

Education: Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, MDiv; University of Illinois, BS in Communications.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide guidance for The Burkhart Center’s many
activities to nurture mind, heart and body and soul through counseling, spiritual direction and teaching, and supporting Quest Programs, Adult Learning and Spiritual Searcher events. Supervise age level ministry directors; leading worship, preaching, pastoral care duties as needed.

Education: Vanderbilt Divinity School, MDiv; Washington and Lee University, BA in English, concentration in Poverty and Human Capability Studies.
Primary Responsibilities: Oversee Camp Akita’s spiritual messaging, faith development, and pastoral care; develop young adult ministry beyond summer camp season.
