We are delighted that you are interested in enrolling your child in the First Community Church Preschool. You will need the information and dates below:
Children must be 2, 3, or 4 by September 30, 2016 to enroll in the Twogether, 3 year old or 4 year old classes. The 4 year old classes also welcome children who are 5 and are being given an extra year before kindergarten. The September 30 cutoff is used by most area school districts, making a smooth transition between our program and elementary school.
Twogether Class Two year olds and a parent or caregiver come together to each class. The class is an excellent experience for the children, but the parent or caregiver also benefits from enrolling in the class. Information on child development and parenting strategies is shared in an informal way during class time.
Threes and Fours Three and four year olds have a maximum 8:1 child:teacher ratio. Curriculum is planned by the teaching teams to meet the needs of the specific groups of children in each class community. See our philosophy statement and curriculum for more detail. Children in the three and four year old classes must be toilet trained when school begins.
Our teaching staff are college graduates, many with degrees in early childhood education or related fields. All teachers participate in ongoing professional development, and are trained in First Aid, CPR, recognition of communicable diseases and child abuse prevention. Many of our teachers have been with us 15-30 years. Child:teacher ratios are never more than 8:1 and are often lower, depending on the class. (Compared to the state licensing requirement of 12:1)
Tuition is based on the number of half-days per week the child attends. The annual tuition will be paid in monthly installments beginning in August and continuing through May (10 payments). You will receive a confirmation letter in June that will included information on how to set up a monthly payment by automatic withdrawal, automatic credit card charge. The Preschool is a non-profit, fully licensed early childhood program. Fees are evaluated annually to cover the cost of the program. Tuition increases keep pace with small salary increases and the rising cost of supplies. Tuition is the sole source of income.
Children must be 2, 3, or 4 by September 30, 2016 to register in the respective classes. 5 year olds also welcome.
