Natural Play Space for First Community Preschool

The First Community Church Preschool is creating a natural play space!

With construction on The Robert S. Crane Jr. Welcome Center at South Campus underway, we have the opportunity to make some additions to our own program.

An area on the north side of the church has been fenced in to create a natural playground with features that will encourage open-ended play and exploration with natural materials. Studies show the importance of children’s interactions with nature.

Our Preschool staff is collaborating with Urban Wild Design Company that specializes in sustainable natural play spaces to create this new experience for our families.

The cost of this new playground is approximately $14,000.

Donice Wooster, a devoted teacher and director of the preschool for 23 years, has made a generous commitment to donate up to $7,000 in matching funds. Every donation you make will be matched dollar for dollar!

Please support this new playground for the South Campus community. You can donate online by clicking the Give Today button below. Please forward this link to other supporters of early childhood education.

If you would prefer to donate by mail, please make your check payable to First Community Church and write “Preschool playground” in the memo line. You can make your donation in honor or in memory of a special someone by including a note with your donation.

Our staff and our families thank you for your generosity.

We look forward to welcoming you to our new outdoor playground!
