Chili Cook-Off

Sunday, November 5 | 5 – 6:30 pm
North Campus, 3777 Dublin Rd.
$5 per person/$20 per family – purchase tickets at the door with cash or card

Join us for an evening of all-you-can-eat homemade chili for just $5. Taste test up to 30 different recipes made by individuals, families, and children of the church. Then, vote for your favorite! The top chili will be determined by the amount of tickets in the “tip jar.” At the end of the evening, we’ll crown a Chili Grand Champion. Hot dogs and desserts are available, too. Invite friends and family; all are invited to this inclusive meal.

Provide Chili

We are in search of the best chili in the land! Provide chili of any variety: meaty or veggie, hot or mild, gourmet or classic. We want to try your best recipe! Know some fellow aspiring chili chefs? Feel free to challenge neighbors and family in the spirit of friendly competition!

Honoring Veterans

Special to this year’s event, we are extending a special invitation to military veteran members of First Community Church. Admission for veterans is free, and all veterans are invited to serve as a special panel of judges, putting their heads together to award a “Veteran’s Favorite” chili in addition to our typical popular vote. We hope this will be a fun way to be in community together, thank these special members for their service, and celebrate the gifts that everyone brings to First Community Church. If you know a veteran we should contact, or if you are a veteran who is interested in attending, please contact Gabrielle Whitcomb at the info listed below.

About Adopt-a-Family

Proceeds from this event will benefit Adopt-a-Family, a Christmastime event wherein students in grades 6-12 purchase, wrap, and deliver gifts for Columbus families in need. The Chili Cook-off typically raises about $2,000 for this important mission, and we need your help to meet that goal!
