Each year, our fourth-graders participate in First Communion. As the children mature, they are given the opportunity to participate more fully in their faith through experiences. These include receiving communion and staying in worship with the congregation on communion Sundays.
Fourth grade communion took place on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at both the 9:15 am and 11 am services. In preparation for this day, we had lessons about communion in the fourth and fifth grade Sunday school classes to help make the experience of communion more meaningful.
Fourth-graders attended a dinner at North Campus with Dr. Glen Miles and the K-5 team. Following dinner, the children were given information and instructions about communion Sunday.
